The Sunday Wine – Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a grape known since aprox. 1685. Worldwide, about 200.000 hectares of vineyards are planted with this grape. The Chardonnay is one of the most grown grape varieties. The grape is a natural cross between Gouais Blanc and Pinot.

Our Lacerta Chadonnay is an elegant wine, rich, full-bodied with flavors fo vanilla, butter and tropical fruit aromas. It has a yellow-greenish color, a lovely well balanced texture with green apple and apricot taste. It goes well with fish, oysters, seafood, white meat and cheese.

I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite fish dishes which I always pair with a glass of Chardonnay chilled at 8 degrees celsius.

Meet the fried sea bass with Chardonnay sauce:

Ingredients for 2 persons:

2 Sea bass

Salt

1 big onion

3 Tbsp. olive oil

1 glass of Lacerta Chardonnay

Salt the sea bass and heat a big pan with olive oil. Fry the sea bass for 5 minutes on one side. Turn the sea bass on the other side and add the onion. Fry for another 5 minutes. After the 5 minutes pour a glass of the wonderful Chardonnay on the fish to create the tasty wine sauce. Leave it to cook for another 2 minutes. Ready! It goes great with boiled potatoes or spinach.

Enjoy!
